Very early shipping crate for Valentine's Varnishes with a wonderful hand-painted lid with address for Bent & Cohoon of New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, shipped via Halifax. Valentine's specialized in varnishes for carriages, and Bent & Cohoon was a general hardware store located on Provost Street in New Glasgow. This crate is complete with original lid and was paper-lined and used as a storage box.
