A good 1982-dated Joe Norris painting on canvas depicting a sunrise duck hunt in Lower Prospect, Nova Scotia.

This painting is from Joe's "first period", when his work was still largely unaffected by commercialism. As time went on, Joe's paintings tended to become less free-flowing and more predictable, driven by the demands of delivering the product that was most expected of him. It is my belief that the earlier works such as these, like Maud's early works, will rise to another level of value in the coming years. This painting was acquired directly from a Norris family member who was given the painting by Joe in the early 80s, so this painting has not been available on the open market before. Painting size is 16" x 24" and the overall framed size is 19.25" x 27.25".
