Early 19th century Scottish basket-hilted broadsword and leather scabbard in relic condition. The ornate forged iron basket hilt is punched with hearts throughout. I spoke to a local blacksmith who said the process of making this hilt 200 years ago would've required days of work. Interestingly, the pommel appears to fashioned from a piece of horn. This sword is in relic condition, exhibiting plenty of oxidation and wear, but it is a true survivor. Believed to be circa 1820.
