Wonderful circa 1930 Newfoundland folk art box in original green paint. Unique placement of hinges and creative use of spools are quirky things we've come to expect in pieces found on the rock. "Bee Be" is spelled out on the lid in two words. The overall box dimensions, as well as the unfinished interior that looks as though it may have held tools, suggests this may have been used as a hunter's gunning box to store shotgun loading and cleaning supplies -- it's possible the "Bee Be" could a play on words spelling out "BB", as in the bird shot often used for hunting fowl. Box dimensions are 15" x 10" x 7".

Dimensions: 15"x10"x7"
