New Brunswick Stand by Trueman
Ref: 10275
Superb, untouched 19th century flame birch single-drawer stand by the well-documented Trueman family of cabinetmakers from Point de Bute, New Brunswick. The Truemans produced some of the finest furniture to come out of Westmorland County and their pieces can be found in the Keillor House Museum, the New Brunswick Museum, as well as the King's Landing Collection. This stand was found in Amherst, Nova Scotia, only about 10km from where it would've been made, and had descended through a family with ties to the Truemans. The stand boasts a few subtle decorative features, such as the canted front corners, as well as the simple scribed lines on the drawer front. The stand is in a fine state of preservation, with original pulls and finish, and shows no signs of damage or restoration.
