A rare and interesting photograph depicting a Nova Scotia sea captain's gravestone with inscription on the stone reading "ERECTED BY HIS BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN LOVING REMEMBRANCE/IN MEMORY OF/CAPTAIN CHARLES ARMSTRONG OF FALMOUTH, NOVA SCOTIA/KILLED AT SEA 26TH, JAN'Y 1885/BY THE CREW OF HIS BARQUE 'WELLINGTON', AGED 46 YEARS." This is an original period 1880s photo and you can see two gravediggers standing in the background, one leaning on a shovel. An interesting, albeit grim, piece of Nova Scotia seafaring and photographic history. The grave is in England and can still be found there to this day.
