A wonderful miniature 2" x 2.25" hand-painted watercolour portrait of a horse, mounted within a hinged thermoplastic case, circa 1860. We've removed this piece from the case to examine it and can confirm it is in fact a watercolour. Found in a Halifax home. The case dimensions are 2.5" x 3". Overall very good condition.
