At only 4" x 2" in size, this miniature carving of a mounted deer head is a marvelous little piece of work. Although unsigned, we are attributing the work to Louis Jeremy based on comparisons to the full-sized heads Jeremy was known to make. In particular, the flattened ears, antler placement and the unique head shape are traits of deer heads done by Jeremy. We've also seen similar plaque-mounted moose heads done by Jeremy, although not on such a small scale. Circa 1920.
