A museum-quality 19th century beadwork-decorated velt smoker's cap with intricate floral and heart patterned work, topped with a small beaded tassel. The quality of the beadwork is of the highest form, utilizing tiny glass beads in a single wide panel spanning the circumference of the cap. Circa 1860. Overall superb condition with a couple small loose bead strands. Found on the south shore of Nova Scotia.
