A late 19th/early 20th century metamorphic store display shelf that can convert from a standard 5-tier vertical shelf, to a stepped 5-tier shelf, to a flat table, by simply turning a couple thumbscrews and pushing the shelf backwards on a central axis. These versatile shelves were most often used in a retail environment for store inventory display, where they could be tailored to suit whatever product was currently on offer.
