A large 19" x 19" x 14" English creamware pottery jardiniere in the form of a stylized nautilus shell on a naturalistic seaweed base, circa 1900. Impressed maker's stamp on underside for Burmantofts. This company produced fine quality art pottery in the late 19th and early 20th century. Their wares were retailed by Harrods and Liberty's, as well as in Paris and Montreal.
