Laine a Paris French officer's campaign clock in a fine rosewood case with boxwood inlay circa 1840. Original silvered dial. Bell strikes on the hour as well as the half. These clocks feature an interesting silk string suspension for the pendulum, which makes for a truly portable timepiece that does not require removing the pendulum for transport. The clock winds and works well although it's currently running fast and will need some minor adjustment. A couple tiny pieces of string inlay missing from the bottom corners, but this piece is in superb cosmetic condition considering its age.
