Superb early Frank Shirley Panabaker oil on canvas painting of an autumn landscape, likely somewhere in the Dundas Valley region. This painting has single-family ownership since bought new from the artist in the 1930's. The buyer's original purchase cheque from the Bank of Montreal in Hamilton, for amount of $100, was attached to the backside with Panabaker's endorsement on the cheque's reverse, a wonderful little piece of the painting's history. Painting size is 16" x 20" and the total framed size is 21" x 25". Original period frame.
