A nice little early to mid 19th century country formal mahogany tea caddy of basic form, possibly crafted in Nova Scotia.  Simple inlays of maple and ebony, and with an inset bone escutcheon. Divided interior with a paper-lined lid. This tea caddy is a rather provincial design and never had interior compartment covers or feet, making it a nice accessory for anyone who prefers a less sophisticated aesthetic.
