Circa 1930 advertising poster for the Canadian National Steamships Empress of Japan, mounted within its original solid oak frame with carved lettering reading "CANADIAN NATIONAL STEAMSHIPS." This ship, manufactured in Scotland, steamed between Victoria and Vancouver to Yokohama and Hong Kong. Interestingly, she was renamed Empress of Scotland after the outbreak of the war with Japan in 1942. Lithograph printed in Canada and based off the 1929 painting by Charles Edward Dixon. Poster size is 20" x 30" and the overall framed size is 24" x 34".
