A wonderful 19th century miniature doll-size dropfront bureau standing only 10.5" tall. Made of thin pine by someone possessing some fundamentals of cabinetmaking, this little chest features a single glove drawer over a main carcass featuring four additional drawers as well as a drop-down writing surface concealing six smaller drawers and a central cubby. The chest has a skirted base and there are even miniature glue blocks on the underside. Found in a Halifax estate. Believed to be from the third quarter of the 19th century.
