WWI Trench Art Vase

Ref: 5461

SOLD

A WWI trench art vase in the form of a 3-trumpet epergne, constructed utilizing the business end of a British 18-pounder artillery shell dated 1916. It was common for WWI soldiers to repurpose something intended for death and destruction into something for a peaceful use, such as a flower vase. This is one of the more elaborate pieces of trench art we've encountered.
