In addition to operating one of only two antique stores in Halifax, Finer Things Antiques & Curios offers an appraisal service with an accredited member of the Canadian Professional Appraisers on staff providing estate appraisals throughout Nova Scotia.  We have conducted antiques appraisals for the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic, Province House, Government House, as well as for various financial institutions and owners of private collections throughout Nova Scotia.

We offer fair market and replacement value appraisals for antiques, providing documentation valid for insurance purposes. Undertakings can be tailor-made to suit your needs, whether it be a simple walk-through appraisal providing verbal estimates for fair market value or a formal typewritten report valid for insurance purposes.  Operating an antique store in Halifax  and being dealers in fine antiques for over 20 years gives us a unique perspective, allowing us to accurately assess your items for the local market. Our rate is $100 per hour, to include travel time and expenses associated with getting to and from the site to view your antiques.
