It is difficult to capture the scale of these carved birds in the photo -- each is a massive 25" long x 17" high. The gentleman who carved these was in my opinion a true folk artist. Harold Green, of Weymouth, Nova Scotia, never carved to sell, nor did he sign his works. He only carved for family and friends and gave his carvings away. He passed away an unknown carver. These glass-eyed birds have an intangible, very naive quality, but still have presence, which is what we like to see in folk art of any era, new or old. Price is per bird.
