A fine piece of walrus tusk scrimshaw in the form of a photograph frame, the carving depicting a ferry steamer plying the waters amongst barren and rocky lands. The photograph depicts members of a northern camp, possibly a logging crew, taking a lunch break around a smoking fire with a make-shift evergreen shelter half in the background. Tusk is approximately 8" in length. Circa 1900.
