Undoubtedly the earliest English sterling silver salver we've handled, this fine 7.5" diameter George II pie-crust and scallop-shell decorated example on cabriole feet carries the hallmarks for master silversmith William Peaston of London, date-marked for 1752. Sits approximately 1" in height and features a wonderful period armorial crest of a muscled forearm and fist clutching a crown.
