A rare and large original circa 1853 lithograph of the city of Halifax, Nova Scotia in a period solid oak frame. Lithographer is Charles Parsons and it was printed by Smith Bros. & Co. of New York. The only online record I could find of another example of this print is located in the I.N. Phelps Stokes Collection of American Historical Prints at the New York Public Library. Sight size is 25" x 39.5" and total framed size is an impressive 31" x 45.5". Expected age toning and looks to have had some trimming to edges and margins to accommodate the frame. I have not encountered another example of this print in the past 25 years.
