Presentation Walking Stick
Early 1900's walking stick with ornate gold-filled knob with engraved monogram and presentation date of April 5th, 1912. To put this date into some kind of interesting historical context, April 5th, 1912 was the day before Good Friday, and the famous passenger steamship Titanic was being decorated with flags in anticipation of her fateful voyage which began only five days later. We do not know to whom or why this walking stick was presented, but it is always curious to explore the time frame surrounding an object.
This walking stick retains its full length of 35". The knob exhibits some denting on the cap end, otherwise good condition.
