Scarce little half-pint single serving size Art Deco period silverplate teapot with caribou logo and stamping for the St. John's Newfoundland Hotel, circa 1926. Heavily plated and manufactured by Gladwin & Co., Sheffield. Only 4.5" tall. Considering how cash-strapped this hotel was from the get-go, it's almost certain this elegant piece was manufactured during the hotel's very beginnings in 1926. After that, the quality of wares would've declined as the hotel slipped into despair and was eventually sold to Canadian National Railways.
