King Tut’s Mask by Coalport
Ref: 8546
A fine porcelain model of King Tutankhamun's gold funerary mask designed for Coalport by artist John Bromley. Bromley, who has since passed away, had stated he sculpted the original piece in clay, then moulds were made for production in bone china. They were then painted and fired again, and then afterwards liquid 22 karat gold was applied and then fired a third time, and then polished. Quite a prolonged and expensive process. Only 250 were made and this example is in fine condition.
