Original 16th century Italian Renaissance period hand-carved architectural fragment for hanging over an interior door. Carved from a single 3-inch thick piece of solid walnut. Excellent old patination with minor inactive woodworm holes, otherwise good. Acquired by the previous owner many years ago during a trip to Europe. These are now getting to be quite difficult to find.
