Halifax Fire Dept. Officer’s Badge

Halifax Fire Dept. Officer’s Badge

Halifax Fire Dept. Officer’s Badge

Ref: 6031

SOLD

Very scarce, nicely-cast late 19th/20th century officer's quality Halifax Fire Department District Chief's badge. Lacking fasteners on the rear. This badge style was worn from the 1890's up through WWI. William Brunt, the Halifax District Chief who died in the Halifax Explosion, appears to be depicted wearing an identical badge in a period photograph. This high-ranking oficer's cap insignia is an interesting piece of 120-year-old Halifax firefighting history.

Dimensions: 2.5"x2"
