A charming, naive early 1900's folk art painting on beaverboard found in Newfoundland, depicting William of Orange. This folky work would be a Newfoundlander's rendition of the famous 17th century portrait done by Dutch artist Jan Wyck. The Orange Order had a prominent role in Newfoundland in the latter part of the 19th century and into the early 1900's.
