A rare item, this cast iron and brass "Edison Mazda Lamp Stand" is an early 1900's store display piece. This two tier fixture is actually a carousel -- each tier can be rotated in any direction with the push of your hand. Inside the hub of each tier is a small ball bearing, and each brass arm has terminals on the end so that when the fixture is rotated, the terminals will meet up with the ball bearing, causing that particular arm's bulb to light. In this manner, you can basically scroll through a variety of light bulb styles/wattages to see what each one looks like when lit. I cannot find another example of this particular Edison display stand for sale.
