A fantastic 19th century solid birdseye maple carpenter's scribe measuring 30" in length, obviously for working with very large planks or projects of considerable scale, such as would be used by shipwrights. Looks to be complete and in good condition with a warm patina. Features a leather tab on one end for hanging on the wall. Possibly as early as mid-19th century.
