Possibly not the best Nova Scotia butter print out there but it's certainly the best we've had and one that I suspect would hold its own with any others that have come out of the province. This 1880's example came out of an attic find in Maccan, Cumberland County, Nova Scotia. It's carved in a solid piece of maple and retains an old dry surface. The press features various designs, each in its own square, including a selection of geometric patterns, a sailing ship in full sail, several different combinations of hearts, a tree with child, and a cauldron hanging from a fireplace crane. A real gem.
