NWMP Officer Watercolour
A rare early 1900's watercolour depicting an armed officer of the North West Mounted Police. During the late 1800's and early 1900's, well before the red serge became the clothing of choice, Canadian police officers wore various types of uniform, such as that shown in this painting. This officer is wearing a light-coloured Stetson, a double-breasted jacket, matching blue pants with yellow stripe, and black boots. I've included an actual photograph below showing a handful of NWMP officers stationed in Dawson, Yukon around the same time period. Image size, not including original mat and frame, is 9.5" x 6".
Dimensions: 9.5" x 6"
