A very early Nova Scotia flame birch chest of drawers with conforming top and bracket base. Late 18th/early 19th century. Nice mellow finish. Solid birch construction with finely-dovetailed drawers and rosehead nails. Dust dividers between each drawer. 2 iron eschutcheons are later additions and some of the thick edge moulding is missing on the corners and sides. Slivers missing from sides of rear bracket feet and about an inch of height loss to rear feet. All in all, a good early honest piece of Nova Scotia case furniture.
