A truly exceptional Victorian period British officer's presentation sword with inscription reading "Presented to Lieut. Richard Dawes, of the Honourable Artillery Company, by the members of the Artillery division under his command at Seaford, August 1862, as a mark of their appreciation of his high qualities as an Officer and Comrade." This sword was manufactured by Parker Field & Son, a highly regarded firm known for quality pieces. This sword is heavily adorned with quality casting, from the pommel to the backstrap to the guard, scabbard and even the hanger rings.
