Early Mahogany Letter Tote
This is an item we haven't encountered in the past, and we can find no similar examples to use as reference. This is a large 19"x15"x14" solid mahogany tote, double-sided, each side with four levels, each level having been divided into four envelope-size sections. Possible uses could've been post office, law office, deed office, etc. The sectional dividers have been removed many years ago, making it now ideally suited for magazines, sheet music, or legal-size documents. Estimated to be circa 1820-1850.
